Driving uphill from Longmont, CO into Estes Park, CO about a 35 minute drive uphill into the Rocky Mountains. Drivetrain Malfunction flashed on the media display with a “drive moderately” warning. This would happen anytime there was a fluctuation in elevation from low to high after driving the vehicle for a bit. There was no loss of power until recently. The vehicle has gone into limp mode and won’t go faster than 30mph. I’m not even sure if it’s street legal right now. A horrible situation to be in with my only method of transportation. I purchased the vehicle from Carvana with issues and I haven’t even paid the vehicle off yet. I’ve owned the vehicle for 2 years and I’ve only put 13,000 miles on the vehicle with 2 oil changes and it’s in limp mode. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. It won’t make it to 100,000 miles.

I had a routine oil change where I was told I had an oil leak, and took it to a mechanic. He was suppose to repair the leak. It leaked out on my car port.

I didn’t notice this until it was too late. My BMW X 3 stopped on the freeway without warning. The mechanic said it was the timing chain was broken and not a leak to cause the engine to loose compression.

I took it to another mechanic and he said the chain was not broken and the engine has failed. I paid for premium warranty they would cover any repairs. All this happened so sudden, I tried everything to prevent costly repairs, and after spending $1000, I still need an engine!
