The contact stated that upon placing the vehicle into park, the vehicle may roll, apply your emergency brake, contact your service provider warning message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to rusnak BMW (3645 auto mall dr, thousand oaks, ca 91362) where she was informed that they had heard of similar failures however, this failure was a rare occurrence. The contact was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and agreed to pay for a portion of repair. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
