- Summary
- Center Information Display Switching off. INFORMATION The brightness of the CID will reduce and may switch off completely due to high temperature rise inside the vehicle. This situation is to protect the function of the CID. After lowering the temperature, the normal functions are restored. The increased temperature, protective switch-off is the reason for the fault. The fault code does not indicate a defective head unit. The normal maximum temperature operation for the head unit is between 167 and 194 F. Within these values, the CID will gradually diminish in brightness until it completely switches off. Replacing parts or programing the vehicle will not rectify the situation. The root cause is the very high temperature and is not a fault of the vehicle's systems.
