I was driving on a side street when I pulled up to a stop sign and noticed a strong odor coming from behind the driver seat. When I tried to shift into first gear to turn, the transmission wouldn't engage so my passenger and I had to push it to the side of the road and call a tow truck.
This was frustrating not only because it happened so soon after purchase (low miles) but also because I had purchased the additional warranty coverage for the transmission and BMW refused to cover the repairs claiming that it was due to driver misuse/ negligence.
In general, I am not a huge fan of the G87 gearbox, especially in low gear.
