I brought my vehicle to BMW dealership to address a problem with the hybrid battery. The car was with the dealership for nearly a month and the dealership replaced a cell module and SME under warranty. At the same time, I also purchased the car main battery and auxiliary battery outside of warranty ($1,000+) so that the dealership could perform a full test.
Unfortunately, since then, I have observed a significant deterioration in the battery's performance. The capacity declining by approximately one-third. The battery hybrid battery capacity has dropped down from 18 miles to 12 miles (1/3rd) when fully charged overnight and it drops down to 10 miles after driving for about hardly 100 yards. I've never had this problem in the past 4 years.
The dealership wants $505 in just diagnostic fees. I find this demand to be unfair and unreasonable, given that the issue appears to be directly related to the initial repair conducted under warranty recently. This experience has severely eroded my trust in BMW's commitment to customer satisfaction and the quality of its hybrid technology. I believe that charging diagnostic fees for a problem that should have been resolved during the recent warranty repair is an inappropriate practice that deters customers from seeking necessary support.
