The contact owns a BMW 2004 545. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 10V446000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum) yet the vacuum pump was still leaking. The dealer advised that the entire vacuum pump would need replacing. The contact called the manufacturer regarding the recall repair and they advised that they were unable to assist. The contact was not satisfied with the recall remedy and stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 93,570.

It was a recall for brake fluid pump check valve oil leak, and they replaced vacuum hose, did not fixed fluid leak. Fluid is still leaking a small amount.

While driving at speeds of 45 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the brakes would not fully engage. The vehicle decreased in speed but would not stop. She was able to move the vehicle from the highway and engaged the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. Mechanic advised the brake booster and vacuum had failed. Mileage 60,000.
