This was a car I leased and then bought. I have always had issues with car stalling. The problem has worsened and anytime I took it to the dealership they said they could find no issues. I have been stalled out on roads and freeway. In May the issue was worsening and I took it to another dealership. They said the oil was sludge-like. They accused me of not changing the oil frequently enough. They said there was shards of metal in the oil filter. I then had the car towed to a private shop that works on BMW and Mercedes. They changed the oil twice and found no shards of metal, no nothing. Then I took it in to the dealership in Beaverton OR where I bought the vehicle because they have been calling and sending letters asking me to trade the car in.
I took it on 9/24/2019 and they called me and said the oil was like sludge. I questioned how could this be as it has not been 3000 miles since the oil was changed last, so what the heck. They then called and said it was the VANOS system. I have had the car towed to the dealership for years and they have blown the issue off. I do medicine, ie: OBGYN, and cannot afford to be stuck on the road in the middle of the night nor should anyone for that matter. I had a third market warranty bought through the dealership which will not cover the expense to repair the car. This is absurd. I need help. The problem is I have bought BMWs for years and this is upsetting. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
