First, this vehicle has been in the dealer on more than one occasion for significant repairs, (covered under warranty). However, the warranty expired and it just so happened to not want to start, similar to a dead battery situation, tried jump starting, nothing, just a click as the start button is pushed. Had to tow it home and it sits in the garage waiting for the next move which will probably be a tow to the dealer, which I'm sure will be a pleasure.
Sitting around car-less with a $50k paperweight in the garage. We even charged the battery hoping that was the problem but same symptoms.
Update from Dec 28, 2015: took it to a local bmw mechanic, diagnosed it for free, its the starter-$560 total parts and labor. we hope thats all.
