We have the 2008 BMW 335xi with the N54 engine, with less than 90,000 the engine just totally died on a highway, engine will not start. AAA towed to dealer and they say there is metal shavings in the engine and the engine needs to be replaced.
As it is out of warranty, BMW is refusing to assist with repairs. Its ridiculous that the engine doesn't last 100K and less than 10 years old
Independent repair shops are quoting 8K to fix with a used engine while the dealer is quoting 20K to fix with a rebuilt engine
