My was son was away at college today (1-21-18) and had the vehicle (2006 BMW 330i) parked outside his dorm, when he was notified his car was on fire. When he arrived outside, the engine compartment was on fire. the vehicle seems to be a total loss.
We just had the vehicle in at the BMW service department last week because of a recall notice for the airbag. We were never told BMW had recalled more than 1 million cars and SUVs in the US due to the risk of fires under the hood.
