Takata inflators BMW service center say they don't have the parts available and don't know when. Isn't this dangerous that they don't quickly act on it and replace our parts? what if we get into an accident/ I would like to file a compliant on their inefficiency in trying to resolve this issue and request for them to get the parts asap.

The contact owns a 2013 BMW 328I. The contact received a recall repair from the dealer concerning the air bags. The dealer indicated that the remedy was an interim final repair, but not a permanent repair solution. The manufacturer failed to provide the parts for the air bag recall within a reasonable time frame. The contact was unable to determine if the manufacturer provided the actual replacement parts or the same part that was previously in the vehicle. Per the dealer, the manufacturer cleared the recall information out of the system. The contact received no resolution from the manufacturer regarding the replacement parts. The NHTSA campaign number was unknown. The contact had not experienced a failure. Updated 04/19/17

I got a letter from BMW on March 2016 about the drivers front air bag module need to be replaced when parts come available, and today January 23 2017 I went to the dealer asking about any updates and they told me that parts are not available yet. I asked the advisor if this recall about my safety bags are dangerous and he told me no. So thanks for this web I finally found out that is dangerous. So how long I have to wait?

It seems that I have damage to my valve cam, well just looked up and the vehicle was involved in an accident that was never reported to me at the time of purchase - I am looking at paying over 1700 for a valve cover (labor and material). My air bag lights came on in July and I am told that my VIN is not under recall - when I took to mechanic I was told to take to BMW to have added to recall.

Takata recall - I took my car in to BMW for recall and was told they don't have the part to replace the recall due to a backoerder. I have called several times to find out if they have them yet and have been told no each time. My BMW displayed a "restraint system malfuction" light today. I am worried this may have somethng to do with the recall. Are these parts truly on back order?

The contact owned a 2013 BMW 328I. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle accelerated on its own to 40-50 mph. All the warning indicator sensors blinked on and off. The contact depressed the brake pedal; however, the brakes failed and locked up. In addition, the steering failed. The vehicle drove over the sidewalk and the seat belt released automatically. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The struck her head on the steering wheel and injured her neck and lower back. Medical attention was received. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was deemed destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000....updated 12/14/16 updated 12/20/16

My car was subjected to the takata airbag recalled according to the VIN. I tried to contact BMW local irvine dealer office and BMW North America, I was told the "promotional offer" for me to turn the leased car early had expired, and it was a "low risk" thing for me to keep driving the car until my lease ends. There is no parts available for me to even get the airbag replaced and I still have 2 months left on the lease. I'm driving in fear everyday hoping this airbag won't deploy on me during high temperature days.

Takata recall: I received a letter from BMW on March 2016 notifying me of the driver's front air bag module recall, campaign no. 16V-071. BMW did not have any parts available at the time of notification and indicated they would notify me as soon as they are able to perform the recall on my vehicle. I am concerned for my safety and I think waiting for the airbag to be fixed since March is a reasonable amount of time, considering the seriousness of this matter. If there is anything I can do to speed up this process, please let me know.

Takata recall. I have been attempting to work with BMW corporate and the local dealership in ridgefield ct where I leased the vehicle for the past 3 months and I have yet to successfully resolve the situation. I have 4 months left on my lease and I want BMW to take the vehicle back early as it is unsafe to drive. I survived a train crash in NY just over a year ago where 5 people were killed in the front car I was seated in and I'm not going to risk getting killed by a faulty airbag.

On December 1st I was rearended at interstate speed (65 miles per hour) just prior to impact I had turned my steering wheel to the right to lessen the impact to the vehicle in front of me. However it is clear from the damage to my vehicle that my car made contact on the driver side corner with the bridge as well as the entire passenger side of the vehicle made significant contact with the car in front of me. My car had been at a complete stop. No airbags went off causing me to suffer serious head injuries and scull fractures. In addition, upon impact, my car burst into flames. I was pulled unconscious from my burning car by bystanders with only moments to spare
