Front driver side door will not open from the outside and the inside. Mechanical issue- electrical opening will not make the door open on the driver side

The engine component caught fire spontaneously when car was pulled into a parking lot. There was no warning sign. It did not show any service required notice like it usually does on the dashboard for example if oil is low. There were no recalls pending on this vehicle. The fire was big enough that we had to call fire department to put out. It would have affected other vehicles if not put out. The vehicle was declared total loss after an inspection by insurance company. The car manufacturer (BMW) was contacted but not responded yet. It is available for detailed inquiry and inspection in a secure place.

Something from the passenger front wheel side must have messed up since after I went over a small bump in the road I lost control of my vehicle that resulted in my crashing into a bobbed wire fence and a pole that was holding up the fence. My car was completely totaled and no airbags deployed from anywhere in the car. The steering wheel hit me so hard in the abdomen that it caused my T11 and T12 vertebrae in my spine to break from the doctors reports it was stated that the airbags have failed witch resulted in a direct impact to my abdomen by the steering wheel and instantly I knew I broke my lower back. My 4yr old son who was restrained in his car seat was passenger in the backseat during the accident but didn-??t sustain injuries besides some whiplash and having nightmares. The car was towed by CHP to a local tow yard since I was taken to the hospital by first responders after I was discharged I regained possession of my vehicle that sits in my driveway considered to be un toweable by the tow company storeing my car and needed to pay extra to have them tow it to my house. Please investigate any defects of my vehicle since my son and I could have lost our lives due to the airbag malfunction in the entire vehicle

I have been unable to get my BMW dealer (BMW of Bellevue) to remedy the recall issue. I received notice of the recall in January, 2022 but was informed that no remedy was available yet. I then received a letter in July 2022 informing me that a remedy was now available and I should immediately contact my BMW service center to schedule an appointment. I did that but was informed that they didn't have the required parts in stock and they would contact me when the parts arrived. I have contacted them on a monthly basis since then to check on the status and get the same answer that they don't have the necessary parts. It is now mid October 2022 and I have been afraid to drive my car for fear of it catching fire and potentially blowing up.

Large amount of water comes through ceiling of passenger compartment when it rains. Seat belt warning indicator sounds continuously probably due to short. Once the car dries out, the indicator stops sounding. This occurs both stationary and while driving.

Whenever I accelerate from a stop sometimes on my screen a chassis message and a service break message will pop up on my main screen. After that, the traction control, brake, and ABS light all pop up on my dash and will not go off until I shut the vehicle off and start it back again. Once I restart the vehicle the lights are gone. It doesn't affect how the vehicle drives after they pop up. However, it seems to delay shifting when they initially pop up.

Vehicle was traveling free from other traffic or obstacles when, without warning, the sunroof glass shattered causing a loud sound that distracted the driver. Resultant glass particles entered the vehicle compartment, causing a minor injury to the right hand of the driver. As seen in the attached photos, the glass exploded outward, indicating that this was not due to an external impact. Vehicle was traveling at highway speed on interstate 74 eastbound just West of indianapolis, Indiana

Several times, when the vehicle was in park and stationary, the door latch failed to unlock the door. The latch was pulled repeatedly but the lock didn't unlock and the door couldn't be opened. The door lock was unlocked using the button on the instrument panel. This happened several times, most recently Monday, and it was taken for service at BMW roanoke but they were unable to diagnose the problem or recreate it when they tested the vehicle. Driver sun visor/vanity mirror falls out at swing arm periodically when going over bump or rough road. This happens when it is pulled out at an angle to shield from sun coming in from side. It falls on your head. There is a wire that retains it so it doesn't fall to the floor but swings in the air. Dealer says it is not a defect, can't fix it, has to replace whole assembly. I believe it is a defect with how the visor is retained at its pivot end. It goes into a socket in the roof and is retained by a spring clip that can't be replaced separately and is part of the whole visor assembly.

I have taken my car to the dealership and asked for this lock issue to be repaired at least 6 times during the past five years. Over the past two years the issue happens more frequently. At times I am in the car without it running, then I go to open the door and I am locked inside. The handle acts like it is going to open but the door does not open. The handle lifts but does not move the lock. I have to use a button on the console or the key fob to unlock all the doors electronically. I find this not safe because if the automobile does not have electric supply the drivers door needs to be able to open. This concerns me if there was a accident or urgent need. I had some other suspension issues that I reported. You could hear a loud sound and I was told for a over year it was not a issue. Finally my husband was going to come to the dealership and they said they found the problem did over $6,000 in warranty repair on a faulty boot part before the warranty expired. I had the problem for a long time! BMW diagnostic and service is not what it used to be.

My car doors intermittently won't open, potentially trapping me in my under-warranty car. This happens about once a week across any of the four doors and has been happening for about 12 months. I have taken the car to BMW multiple times under warranty without repair. Others have reported the same problem in their bmws. Bottom line: BMW refuses to repair under warranty any intermittent car issue, even if it's a safety issue. This is even in light of video evidence demonstrating the problem, unless they can make it happen in their shop. During these failures, the only way out of the car is if I press the power lock button. If the car's battery fails or there is an electrical failure during an accident, there would be no escape from the car. On December 1st I was rearended at interstate speed (65 miles per hour) just prior to impact I had turned my steering wheel to the right to lessen the impact to the vehicle in front of me. However it is clear from the damage to my vehicle that my car made contact on the driver side corner with the bridge as well as the entire passenger side of the vehicle made significant contact with the car in front of me. My car had been at a complete stop. No airbags went off causing me to suffer serious head injuries and scull fractures. In addition, upon impact, my car burst into flames. I was pulled unconscious from my burning car by bystanders with only moments to spare
