Oct 27, 2023 I took my car to the BMW dealership for PA inspection. (2013 328i luxury Xdrive) The car has not been taken anywhere else since purchase. I was told I should think about have the timing chain fixed because it was starting to make a noise and an estimate of 5900$ was given. I questioned this and was told it was a known problem for this engine, but I didn't need to have it done right away, since it just started. So, I called a local garage that works on BMW's to get a second estimate. He told me about the recall. My research revealed it is at my expense since the car has over 100,000 miles. Not happy, I feel like it is defective and should be covered. I expected this car to exceed this mileage without issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
