Passenger seat mat failed turning off passenger side airbags for a car manufactured in fall 2007 in germany. BMW don't want to take ownership of the problem despite this being a safety issue and models prior to this cut-off date having already been recalled for the exact same problem. The passenger seat is rarely used and the car, despite being 9 years old, has only done 39,000 miles. This is a dangerous condition if the airbag is truly turned off though no codes indicate this is the case. Don't know what to believe

After the car was serviced about a year and a half ago, the air bag light went on. When I took it back to the dealer, he said the sensors are really sensitive on the bmws. I recently found out that this year and model had a recall on airbags. When I called the dealer they asked that I refer this to you guys because my particular VIN is not included in the recall. I am now constantly driving in fear of a airbag malfunction.

Takata recall. I was mailed a safety recall notice from BMW alerting me to the fact that my airbags had been recalled, and that they posed a significant safety hazard. They told me that they did not have parts in supply currently to fix the issue, but would contact me again when they had the parts. This was over a year ago. They still have not contacted me about replacing my airbags. This has not been taken care of in a timely manner at all.

We received notice a of recall over a year ago and yet whenever I call my local BMW they tell me there is nothing to worry about and that we will be notified when they can fix it. They tell me that it is mostly older vehicles that are affected....but ours is 8 years old.

"seat-belt light/takata recall, it seems that my VIN number is not listed among the vehicles recalled but my airbag lights have been coming on and off as well as seatbelt lights and I believe that the two systems are linked and should be investigated for security reasons, the lights came on as the vehicle was in slow motion as I was attempting to park. I would like to have the parts replaced, especially if the airbags are manufactured by takata or another manufacturer.

Takata recall I have contacted BMW customer service at least 3 times to get an estimation as to when my vehicle will have the airbag replaced. BMW does not seem to be able to give me a time line. Over the last 3 months all they can say is "there is a shortage of parts" ''you will be notified when parts are received". how long is a reasonable wait to get the airbag fixed on a car that is driven daily?

Takata recall. I have called dealer five times and they do not know when they will get the repair part. I own two 2008 BMW's with same recall. Columbia SC BMW 803 404 5400. Surely someone knows the status of the new part. They seem to be ignoring me, never had that happen before.

We have been waiting over 9 months for BMW to fix this issue VIN: [xxx] year: 2008 make: BMW model: 328I sedan number of open recalls: 1 NHTSA recall number: Opens new window takes away from VIN lookup section> 16V071 recall date: February 5, 2016 manufacturer recall number: Na summary: Driver's front air bag: During air bag deployment in an accident, the driver's front air bag module may produce excessive internal pressure that could cause the inflator to rupture. No progress on recall campaign no. 16V-071 since notification 7+ months ago. Given the year of my BMW series 3 sportswagon (2008) and my coastal location, I am very concerned that parts are still not available to correct this dangerous problem. The recall notice directs the consumer to contact www.safecar.gov "if your BMW center is unable to remedy the defect... within a reasonable period of time."

The dealer provided a loaner vehicle for months and later scheduled an appointment, indicating that the remedy was an interim solution until the manufacturer was able to provide a permanent repair solution. The manufacturer was contacted to address the guidelines of the interim repair and to determine when the permanent repair solution would be provided to the dealer.
