Passenger air bag sensor in the seat mat is defective causing the air bag to not read correctly the passenger weight and possibly deploying with a child in the seat. The light remains on at all times. There are recalls out for other BMW autos for this same reason 17V-428 - this model and year wasn't included in the recall list but is also carrying a defective part.
"takata recall...I received a letter from BMW I would say summer of 18 stating that they are extending my warranty on my passenger air airbag and a month before that my airbag light highlighted on my dashboard I took it to my local BMW dealer and they said there was nothing wrong I would need to pay for the diagnostic I don't believe I should have to I have a letter stating it's extended and the light is on I'm afraid it will go off I need to get a letter from BMW to cover this please consider recalling the airbag sooner
I have done the most recent 3 recalls on my BMW, I noticed through kredit karma that it claims a fourth one for the detection mat on the passengers seat air bag system. I did mention this recall to BMW when I recently visited for the 3 most recent recalls, but they claimed it was not affected. The alert of the malfunction only shows when passenger is seated, it clears after turning off ignition, but once back in passenger seat, it malfunctions once again. I would just like some clarification on this if possible. Thank you.
Takata recall I received mailed correspondence from tk holding regarding defective airbags for my 2007 328xi. I was instructed to complete the claim forms mailed to mail which I did. Subsequently my claim was denied and to date no repairs have been made or offered for the affected takaka parts inside my vehicle. As it my only means of transportation. I continue to drive with the faulty parts. I await recall for the takaka inflator recall. I made an appointment to BMW of mt. Laurel to fix it and was informed that they were not fixing takata inflator recalls at that time.

Recall for front passenger seat occupant detection mat & PCV valve heater not complete. Dealer has not been able to obtain parts to repair these recalls.
Failed pressure mat sensor, passenger airbags disabled BMW failure code (93C3 OC3) service bulletins issued, however existing recalls do not cover my VIN. Current condition leaves passenger airbag disabled.
The seatbelt light is on as if there is someone in the car without a seatbelt on. The airbag light is on and the engine light as well. They all popped up around the same time.
My passenger airbag sensor light for the seat keeps going on I've had this reset twice and it just keeps coming back on and now it does not go off. I was told there was a recall on this about 4 years ago it obviously wasn't fixed.. I was driving this last time when the light came on.
Passenger airbag restraint failure - BMW's, in particular 3 series and E90 models, have a known and common failure where the seat based electrical mat fails in the passenger seats. This is not related to wear and tear as the seats often go unused but simply fail after a certain period of time. The error causes the passenger side airbag to default to always on, which can cause injury or death to children or small passengers in that seat. The cost to repair this is usually $200 for parts and $400 for labor which means many drivers simply don't fix it creating a vulnerability. The issue has been recurring with bmws for several generations and across model types and should be addressed by the manufacturer as its a poorly made part and set up. There are numerous documented cases on BMW forums and a partial recall for some models was implemented. A full recall is needed on all cars affected, including 2007 3 series models. The issue does not appear fixed until the F model 3 series came out. Received original notice for recall. Called two different BMW dealers in Georgia area. Both told me they would contact me once the part(s) came in. Followed up and waited over 6-8 months. Received another recall notice. Filed complaint
For over a year now the airbag light on the dashboard has been going on and off. Originally, it was only turning on when I had a passenger in the front seat. Now it turns on with or without a person so I'm starting to think that the drivers side is malfunctioning too. In additional the seatbelt light is turning on too now. This is very frustrating. I talked to the dealership and they indicated that it is the airbag and seat sensors that have malfunctioned. Each to fix is over $500. They also indicated that this is a common problem for owners and to wait for a supposably recall letter. However, that was a year ago and I now have the airbag and seatbelt light going off. I've also come across many BMW forums (owners) talking about their frustration with these same issues. It's surprising that the dealerships acknowledge the issue but yet nothing is being resolved. There has to be a remedy for this annoyance and lack of acknowledgement by BMW. If anything there has to be some repercussions on BMW's part since the consumers are having to deal with these problem for what seems to be years now.
I have an airbag deployment issue. Commonly defined as a 93A8 - code by BMW. This causes the drivers side airbag to get deactivated due to an issue with the triggering circuit from the airbag. This is a chronic BMW problem, with multiple reports from the consumer for the same issue. (I've attached forum reports) I have a car, that cannot be driven as the drivers side airbag is completely deactivated indicating a fault in the circuit. BMW is not taking responsibility and is indicating, I would have to bring the car in to pay for diagnostic fees and replacement of airbag module/harness & airbags. This is a big safety issue with a failing triggering circuit during general drive. Many consumers have reported on the same issue and this causes the airbag to not deploy during an accident
The airbag light is on in red. The airbag is on recall for the takata recall airbag. The steering wheel with a lock sign over it is illuminated in red. The car was stationary the light illuminated and the car would not start all systems were locked including the steering wheel. BMW stated it will cost you $100 to put it on lift and an additional $100 for the diagnostic. I ended paying $100 for the diagnostic.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 BMW 328I. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 16V071000 (air bags) was received in February of 2016. After notifying the manufacturer, the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given. The local dealer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Takata recall the first complaint is that I am afraid to drive or allow anyone to drive a car with this airbag recall which has in some cases resulted in serious injuries or death. The car is thus parked in the garage while the dealer tells me they can't get the car in for repairs for 6 weeks at least which is unacceptable. Secondly, there are two additiona recalls that have no "fix" at this point which could also result in serious injury or death. I am at a loss for what to do with this vehicle. It is a hazard and completely useless for the purpose for which it was intended. The two additional recalls are both fire hazards and are not correctable at this juncture. This is unacceptable.
