Randomly you may get a warning on the dash saying SOS! with a lone through the telephone icon. This error can be caused by multiple things which is the annoying problem with it. It could be a failure of the SOS emergency call system. The link between the front CPU and the rear CPU. A Low voltage battery problem or a problem with the blue tooth connection with your phone.
The problem is when you get this error, you can't use the radio or the SOS until it fixes itself. In my case it took a day for it to go away on it's own. For me, the problem was it couldn't sync with my phone via blue tooth randomly one day. It never had the problem before or after that day.
Another horrible design by BMW. If your radio system has problems syncing with your phone, it just disables the entire radio system and SOS system. Great job BMW.
