2013 BMW X3 with 40k miles and was driving on a local road. Warning light came on indicating a drivetrain malfunction and that I should drive moderately. Could only drive at up to 35 mph.
There was a similar problem that occurred a few month ago and was fixed by local dealer. At that time the car stopped completely at a residential area. Had to stop the car and then was able to restart the car and drove at 20-30mph.
Very dangerous situation when car becomes powerless. Can't imagine what would happen if this were to happen when driving on the highway.
