At speed in excess of 70 mph a loud whistle would sound in the cabin of my 1993 BMW 318i. When you dipped below 70 the whistle would stop. One day while driving the whistle played again and out of frustration I pushed on the windshield. Low and behold I could change the pitch of the whistle sound and actually make music.
Upon finding the cause of the annoying problem, I went to the dealer where I explained the issue and cause. The dealer VOSS Village in Dayton, OH told me not to drive over 70 MPH. This is a ridiculous response from a service manager. I insisted he go for a test drive with me so I could show him the problem.
After the test drive the dealership removed the windshield and resealed it; thus thankfully eliminating my BMW's musical windshield capabilities.
