This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Was driving down the highway around 65mph. There were no cars or trucks around me. As I was driving I suddenly heard a loud explosion type sound. I heard glass shatter and wind start to enter my car. I was absolutely shocked and almost lost control of my vehicle. I took the next exit off the highway and parked my car. Upon exiting, I saw a huge gaping hole in my glass sunroof, along with the remaining glass completely shattered and cracked. There is currently a lawsuit on-going about manufacturer defects on BMW causing sunroofs to explode. I believe I was a victim of this. As seen in the pictures, whatever caused the glass to "explode" pushed the glass to an outward direction, where as a rock would not cause this type of patter.
