TSB Document:
Affected Component: BRAKES (PWS)
- Summary
- Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 13-28 dated January 25, 2013. The customer may complain of a high-pitched squeal or squeak from the brake system when braking at slow speeds, even though the brake pads and discs still have a significant life left. The noise is caused by the natural frequency of front brake components. Like all high-performance brakes, TT RS brakes are designed for optimum braking performance. High-performance brakes must satisfy a wide range of functional demands, including having good pedal response and a short stopping distance after several repetitive brake applications. It is not possible to entirely eliminate all brake noises under certain unfavorable driving conditions. Brake noise does not have a negative impact on braking performance or wear.
