The Audi dealer told me that due to a failed sensor, the car did not indicate a problem and thus resulted in a failure. This issue was a result of poor engineering and a clogged screen where the oil is picked up into the turbos. I was told by the shop that replaced my turbos that this is a common problem for this engine and rears its ugly head around 60000 miles. Audi would not stand behind their car. I was told that the car was too old at 7 years of age. Even though it has been maintained exclusively by Audi under their Audi Care maintenance plan - which is not cheap.
Garbage car. Do a search for "Audi S6 turbo fail forum". Lots of folks getting hit with this.
BTW, to preemptively replace the oil screen will run you about $3,000 in labor. :-) Way to go Audi!!
