Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 02 number 12-01 dated November 28, 2012. Customer may report hearing a rattle noise from the rear of transmission at idle. On manual vehicles, the noise may change when clutch is depressed. Because the R8 is not equipped with a dual mass flywheel, engine vibrations go directly into the transmission. Gears that are not engaged will vibrate, causing a rattling noise. This noise does not affect the performance of the vehicle. Replacing the transmission will not change this condition.
