Noticed coolant loss around 52,000 miles, which quickly turned into significant loss over the next 1k miles. The water pump pulley also began to squeak periodically at start up, which is what led me to believe the water pump was on its way out. Interestingly enough, there were still no faults when using a genuine Ross Tech VCDS cable to scan for faults. After a few more weeks of driving around with coolant always on board in case of an emergency, I received a low coolant warning light and my coolant reservoir was completely empty.
Took it to dealership, told them what was wrong, was still charged $194 diagnostic fee even though I knew it was the water pump. Final invoice was $1415, which is insane considering this vehicle is just past the 50k mark and there was a class action settlement last year that included this vehicle. Dealership was not willing to provide any assistance, I'm just hoping there is a future recall that will result in a refund of my money since this is clearly a widespread issue that many 4M Q7 owners have had.
