Side marker light malfunction message appears on the dash when starting and illuminates other warning lights while driving. Problem is that the side marker light is functioning perfectly. Car is under extended warranty but dealer says the "problem" is inside the headlight assembly (which works just fine) which would likely need to be replaced and then calibrated at a cost of nearly 5k. Extended warranty does not cover headlight assembly (especially when the headlight is functioning). Dealer proposed $750 in diagnosis costs to determine if a new headlight was required. Dealer cannot turn off the the message and after awhile the check engine light follows the other dashboard warnings. Check engine light presents a problem for passing inspection. come on Audi, can't we fix this with software??????
