I just bought a brand new 2015 Q5 2.0, premium plus with all the upgrades on the last day (Saturday)of February @ 18 miles. Within a week of driving, there was some issue identified and on taking to the dealership next Saturday, they said it could be a very small or a bigger issue. After their analysis, the downshift from 4th to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd was not smooth and had to be fixed. They changed software and other stuff, it did not fix anything. They changed the whole mechatronics (brain of the transmission) on the car (reminder: brand new car, now at 300 miles).
They called me in on next Friday and said it has been fixed. I took it for a test drive, was not fixed and I showed the service manager when I took him on a ride in my car. What is the problem, before I pointed it out he instantly got to know, where I am feeling uncomfortable. Car was taken in again and by Monday (March 16), they said that Audi has directed them to put in a new transmission altogether. I have not had the car for the past 13 days, after 6 days of driving, the car has been away from me, even when I bought it from my money.
I am a die hard Audi enthusiast and a mechanical engineer myself, but I am in such a huge dilemma right now on what to do in this scenario. Audi can be completely unreasonable, and what should I do if that happens, should I take a legal route or anything else, after all my car cost about $52k and I get this sort of problems. Any helpful suggestions are welcomed.
