CarComplaints.com Notes: Consumer Reports said the 2012-14 Q5 ranks "very good" for reliability, and so far our numbers show it's hard to argue with that. Just know that you might have a tough time keeping the car straight on the highway.

About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
1. adaptive light not functioning. Warning light flashing for over a year now. " adaptive light defective" symbol flashing. 2. ac/heating fan "squealing" loudly. Began about a month ago.
At issue is the replacement of a daytime running light on the 2013 Audi Q5 which failed under normal driving conditions. Mileage at the time was under 60K miles. Audi engineering imbedded the daytime running light into the headlight unit. When the daytime running light fails, the entire headlight unit must be replaced - service estimate of $1,695. My research shows dealership service estimates for the replacement of a daytime running light to be $85 or less for other vehicles. I feel Audi's actions were fiscally and environmentally irresponsible and I resent Audi forcing customers like myself to pay such an exorbitant cost for this safety repair due to Audi's blunder. Audi was aware of this issue when I purchased the vehicle but did nothing to notify me of this pending expense.
