The contact's wife owns a 2011 Audi Q5. The contact stated that after he parked the vehicle in his garage, he smelled a fuel odor outside of the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the flange had cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and advise the contact to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the recall was previously performed under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V818000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000. The contact stated that the dealership was able to resolve the issue.

We were transferred from Chicago to germany at the end of 2014 and as the Audi recall for the airbag and fuel flange were now available we scheduled the vehicle for service on 11/12 Jan 2017. The dealer had the recalls in the system and printed them out as a service order for repair. On 12th January the dealer called and said Audi ag would not authorize the repairs. I called again today 13 Feb 2017 and the dealers service representative daniel carr said they would not authorize and that the dealer has no way of ordering the parts without Audi ag and that I should contact an american dealership in the us.
Takata recall after 10 months of receiving a recall notice, the takata replacement bags are still not available from fromaudi dealer. I also received a recall in November regarding fuel pump flange -- after calling my dealer several times, I am told replacement offered by recall notice is not available, may not be for several months - this is fire hazard. Audi leaves me to drive a vehicle with 2 serious defects, which they know about, and make no effort to deal with the recall or offer me a replacement vehicle. How can this be accepted?

The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. My car (2011 Audi Q5) engine abruptly shut down at low speed twice on the same day, once at a stop sign and second time while backing out of the garage. About 2 weeks ago, the car stopped while trying to pull out of a parking lot at speed of about 10 mph or less. Fuel tank was more than half full and battery is good too. Car is less than 3 years old with service date starting May 2011. Vagcom analysis when connecting the car obdi port to my laptop indicates fault codes 4732, 4735 among several others relating to misfiring cylinders and faults in the fuel pump circuit/electronics. A cursory search on the internet indicates several such incidents with many other car owners where the car had to be towed to the dealership service department to get it fixed. This is a dangerous situation in which car can come to stop in the middle of the road and I hope Audi takes leadership in proactively solving this problem before a serious accident/injury happens to someone.
