CarComplaints.com Notes: The 3rd generation A8 got off to a slow start. Really slow, like "limp home" slow thanks to leaking antifreeze frying the engine's control modules. Thankfully the problem was recalled in September 2016.

While exiting off of the highway, the vehicle started chugging, then it lost power and shut off during rush hour traffic. Thankfully it did not shut off on the busy highway, or else there could have been fatalities. The vehicle started shaking when restarted and I was able to make it home. I took the vehicle to the Audi dealer for a diagnostic test and it was determined that both Turbochargers needed to be replaced. The price quoted from the Audi dealer was $10,000 to replace.
The vehicle only has 40,000 miles and is well maintained at the Audi dealer. I reported the issue to Audi of America and they reviewed my complaint and later decided that they were not able to meet my request of repairing the vehicle, despite the fact that it is a known issue with this model and year. I filed a complaint with the NHTSA . This is unacceptable by Audi and I will never purchase another Audi ever again. This is a serious mechanical issue that could cost lives!
