Dealership couldn’t place where the knocking was coming from and after using a stethoscope their conclusion was it’s coming from the water pump. Removed the water pump and supercharger then ruled out that was not it. Next they said their best quests was the high pressure fuel pump which sounded very unlikely. A grand later the knocking still was present. Got a call the next day and they said after some investigating they believe the timing chain guide must’ve gone bad causing the chain to slap. Estimate is 37 hrs to replace due to the fact they have to drop the engine. Over the weekend I did some researching on my own only to discover this is a known problem with Audi. They are on their 5th version/modification of the guide due to being defective. Not happy.
