programmed is stored in address word 44 power steering (J500). The steering control unit J500 expects to receive a VIN message over the data bus shortly after terminal 15 is turned on. If the VIN message is not received at the expected time, the J500 assumes it has been installed in a new vehicle and discards the programmed end position values.
