This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
New Michelin tires mounted by tirerack on bbs rims. Within 10 miles, front passenger tire went flat, and upon inspection the valve ("valve #1") was found to be defective. Received new tire and new valve ("valve #2") from tirerack, which was mounted by my car dealer. After sitting for one hour, front passenger tire went flat. Upon inspection, the second new valve, valve #2, was found to be defective. That's two defective valves out of five, which does not seem to be an acceptable failure rate.
