About 3 weeks ago, while driving, I noticed that the steering seemed unusually hard to turn, but only at about the 10 and 2 o’clock position. Since them, the problem has become so significant, that I am beginning to feel that the car is unsafe to drive, as it changes the way I would normally expect the steering responsiveness to be. It requires much more force to turn. Obviously, this is a significant safety concern. After researching the web, there seem to be many complaints by Audi owners that this is happening. Audi has a safety bulletin, so they are aware that there is an issue, but they will only fix cars in warranty for free. I am wondering how an issue as significant as a steering problem with 1000’s of affected cars can not be an issue that requires a safety recall.
