I bought this vehicle to commute in Phoenix stop and go traffic. From a dead stop, the transmission doesn't engage until the brake is fully let off, and you cannot hit the gas immediately as this will cause the vehicle to rev too high (2,000-4,000 rpm) then slam into motion similar to a neutral slam. This has occurred on multiple occasions, usually at a time when I need to shoot a gap in traffic (something a turbo Audi should do without a problem). I work at a VW dealer and am familiar with the Volkswagen acceleration hesitation but this is on another level - it seriously feels like a bad transmission slip or a 3,000 stall converter. Other than the transmission issue, I love the car but will not keep it much longer, as I don't wish to die during my commute.
