Car Bought In: July 2022 Mileage at Purchase time: 130000 KM Previous Owner: Old lady, had it since 2011 and had driven it 50,000 since then. Maintenance I had done: A/C Coolant, Differential Oils (front and rear) Exhaust leaks, Turbo wastegate repair, Oil Filter housing, Rear suspension, shocks, springs and mounts.
What happened: Last Thursday I went in for an oil change and get the oil filter housing changed as it had cracked and oil was dripping. We washed the engine afterwards. That evening we did a round trip to Toronto which was around 90 KM without issues. Next morning (Friday) I went to work normally. There were no oil leaks (as I had parked in a new spot specifically to notice the same). At lunch, I got in, started the engine and it was hammering. I opened and the oil level was full. I towed the vehicle to the mechanic where upon inspection it was revealed that the rod bearing in cylinder 3 had broken.
