Twice during the warranty problem there were transmission issues. At 38,000 miles there was a pinhole in a transmission cooler line. The mechanic at Audi said it was a defective line. At 49,000 miles the transmission mount was noted to be damaged and the wasker had spun sideways, causing it to rattle off the mount assembly. They also said it was a defective part. Then, at 61,000 miles another pinhole appeared in a transmission cooler line. But, this time it immediately lost all fluid and the transmission was destroyed. Audi denied any responsibility for it, despite the obvious warnings (in retrospect, unfortunately). We eventually got $2,000 out of them towards the repair, and have dumped the car. After being a loyal Audi customer for more than 30 years, this is the end. Truth in engineering, my foot.
