The contact owns a 2004 Audi A4. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the rear windshield became detached from the soft top. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be inspected. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Wipers stopped working during a rain storm, left the blade up and in my view. Turned the wipers off then back to the on position to see if that would retract them. They moved about an inch and then the window cracked right above the drivers side wiper arm. Wipers work fine as long as I leave a cracked windshield in place. Replace it and they work intermittently until the window cracks again.
There is an oily film that develops on the interior of the windows, can't wipe it off because it smears. Traveled 80 miles a day for work. Doesn't happen in the winter, but happens in warm weather. Dealer put in a new windshield which was having same problem. The oily film continued to cover the windshield at 11,000 miles. Audi doesn't provide a solution for the problem and consumer feels that this can create a dangerous problem
