The back rear door was locked shut when the actuator failed. However to open the door, they needed access to the actuator. As the door was locked shut, they could not remove the door card. They therefore had to cut the door card away, and we had to source a second-hand door card.
Once the door card was cut away, they still could not get access to the full actuator and therefore, could not unlock the door. This meant cutting the door from the outside to expose the actuator and eventually releasing the door. Now I am having to pay for a new actuator, new door card, new door, and repaint of the car.....not to mention the labour!! $5,500 later....it was fixed....for now!
