This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Hi. I have a 1998 Audi A4 6 cylinder quatro5 speed. It has 97K miles. The ABS light has come on and I understand that it is a common failure. Approx. $1700 repair at the dealer. I understand that VW has had a recall for exactly the same issue with exactly the same part. It seems like such a recall should extend the Audi using the same part, which has a high failure rate. It seems to be a very serious safety issue and should be recalled and repaired by Audi. Can you help me understand why a part and safety issue would be recalled for VW but not for Audi? here is a link to further information: Thanks!
