I had a 2019 Audi A3 only 34,000 miles. On September 8, 2022 my 16 year old daughter was driving to school when she said the car started shaking really bad; she started loosing control the wheel steered her into the left lane onto oncoming cars. She was able to steer back to the right lane where she heard a loud noise and the car wouldn’t let her turn the wheel but she was able to make it on side the road. Wheel and foot airbags deployed. By the time her dad made it on the scene he noticed the motor/engine was on the ground. I went to Audi about a clicking noise in October 2021 and April 2022 but was told it was normal the first time. The second time they said to drive a few thousand miles because the noise was faint and wasn’t sure where it was coming from.
Update from Mar 6, 2024: Forgot to mention the car was totaled. Received the police report:
"It appears as if Vehicle had a catastrophic engine failure. The failure caused vehicle to leave the roadway to the right and collide with the guardrail; vehicle came to final rest approximately 300 feet west of the area of collision".
