TSB Document:
Affected Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
- Summary
- DTC 00003 (Control Module - no or incorrect basic setting/adaptation) is stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). It may be present following a reset of the Service Reminder Interval. There are no functional issues with the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster is pre-programmed to allow a maximum service interval of 15,000 kilometers, and checks to see that this value is not exceeded. The US market uses a service interval of 10,000 miles, which is equal to 16,000 kilometers. Because this value is higher than the maximum allowed service interval, the discrepancy causes the DTC to set.
