Takata recall - Audi dealerships are either denying that there is a recall or refusing repair on the basis of airbag unavailability. I have been in contact with both of the following dealerships regarding this recall for about 1 year with no satisfaction. Rockville Audi, bryan webster, checked the Audi recall site as late as 10/30/2017 and showed me on the screen that there were no open recalls on my vehicle, and denied replacement. Silver spring Audi (mile one) (original selling dealer) acknowledged recall but indicated repeatedly that they could not obtain a replacement from takata and therefore could not comply with the replacement of the recalled airbag. This has effectively denied me the use of my car for 12 months.

Takata recall. I live on the island of maui and the only authorized dealer to perform the safety recall of takata inflators, is on oahu. Neither the dealer, or Audi of America, Inc. Will pay for the shipping of the vehicle for this recall. This will cost hundreds of dollars for shipping both ways, and is only a temporary fix. Additional cost will be required when there is a "final remedy."

Remedy: Replace driver airbag inflator. Recall status: Recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available almost a year later and remedy not yet available!!!!

"takata recall" I was notified in April 2016 of the recall by Audi of America. As of today, Oct. 3, 2016 I was told that they still have no timeline as to when the parts will be available to repair my vehicle. As this is a dangerous situation, potentially fatal, it is mind boggling that 6months have elapsed since the initial notification.
