Vehicle is experiencing a high oil consumption issue. Every 1000 miles it's required one quart of oil to be added to the oil filler. Acura has a warranty extension for this know issue to 8 years or 125,000 miles from the original date of service, whichever comes first. My vehicle was noticed to have this problem at 83,000 miles and just under 9 years of service. Acura customer relations was contacted but refused to service my vehicle due to lack of service at their dealership even though I have records of making my synthetic oil changes and other repairs at an independent mechanic shop.
The contact owns a 2011 Acura Tsx. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle lost power without warning. The contact called Acura of honolulu at 808-829-3073 (3251 N nimitz hwy, honolulu, hi 96819), but there was no response or return call from the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.
Steering wheel clicks when I turn and when I start my car up after letting it sit for a couple of hours, it makes a rattle sound in the engine. The rattle sound is the sound a engine make when the oil is low or not getting to the pistons.
At only 40,000 miles, my 2011 Acura Tsx has vtec actuator failure. It started to show signs of this over the last 5,000 - 10,000 miles or so and has become increasingly worse. I hear a grinding noise whenever I start my vehicle first thing in the morning. My local Acura dealer has done a diagnostic and has confirmed the actuator failure. Honda who also owns Acura, has been aware of this issue since approximately 2008. It is affecting a very large portion of vehicles with a Honda vtec engine. They have done nothing to fix this issue and it is affecting brand new vehicles as well. Now, they want to pass along the cost of repairs to me even though I should not be experiencing these kinds of problems at only 40,000 miles. I am still waiting for documentation from my dealer that confirms the actuator failure and can provide it in the next couple of days.
