The transmission gear shifts are not the smoothest. My 2003 TL had better gear changes and that thing had a busted reverse. There is no slipping at all whatsoever or any other issues with the transmission. Just that my head bobs a little when the gears shift. I do not know if this is a normal thing for these cars. The only other car I had driven was a 2005 TSX with 170k miles and that transmission shifting was not the best either.
When I bought the car at 120k miles the fluid and filter for the transmission had never been changed. Those were the first things I took care of on the car. Changed transmission fluid first week of ownership. I am not sure if not changing it made it shift this badly, but hopefully changing it means that it will not get worse. I hope that it at least stays the same if it does not get better.
