The oil rings on the pistons have an issue that due to carbon buildup (my research, no useful cause-related or preventative information has come out of Acura thus far), they start to let oil pass. The oil somehow got low enough to destroy half my engine by the time the engine light had come on, but not low enough for the oil light to come on to warn me to check the oil to see it was dark and so low it barely touched the dipstick?
This caused problems with the lower control arm bushings, ball joints, VTC actuator, and camshaft, all were replaced at an Acura dealership.
I must pay this repair fee for a car that has just been purchased, going through a Honda dealership for a pre buyers inspection where it received glowing compliments on the lack of wear and how well it had been taken care of.
So now my problem that there is a class action lawsuit for this problem but only for a mix of 2009-2014 RDL RDX MDX TL ZDX models. I want to get my name on that lawsuit list. I also want to know how I am supposed to drive this car knowing that one day this could happen all over again and I will lose all my money once again to oil rings that are known to be faulty.
Here is the warranty extension for these vehicles, the 05 TSX is not listed, yet has just had the exact same issues.
