2015 Acura Tlx leased from dealer with just 6 miles. The car exhibited very jerky shifts at low speed. There is usually, but no 100% of the time, one rough shift/vehicle motion just it hit a bump when accelerating from standstill, another one at around 15 mph, and one more of the same just below 40 mph. At times, the car will jerk forward just before it comes to a complete stop. The car also is very difficulty, nearly impossible, to bring to a smooth stop. Acura dealership had diagnosed the car and decided to update its transmission software. They didn't think anything was physically damaged. The car actually drove worse after the reprogramming. The car was rough and jerky at speed between 1 to 40 mph. After several days, the car/transmission seemed to have "learned" how to behave and now I am just left with the rough shift, jerking, and slippage like issues as I had before the service. I am going to the dealership for a second time for the stated problem on November 2. I am hoping that everything will be resolved or Acura would take ownership of the problems and declare the vehicle/transmission was manufactured with problems that can not be corrected. I would like Acura to either provide me with a Tlx without the problems, or another comparable Acura vehicle to replace the leased vehicle, or buy back the leased Acura Tlx. I would like the NHTSA to help address my particular issues as well as help other owners by making Acura address the widespread problems with this particular year/model of the Tlx.

I have had many episodes with this car. The first one, I was stopped at a stop sign with a car ahead of, and behind me, when I released the brake, I tried to move forward, and it felt like I got hit from behind, the car lurched forward. Another time, my husband was backing out of a parking spot, and he hit a telephone in front of him. He is unclear what happened. We had damage to the front of the car which we had to repair. Another time, I was driving in economy mode in traffic, when I released the brake, and started to accelerate, the car didn't move initially, then after a second or two, it raced forward with my foot off the accelerator, and I hit the vehicle in front of me. Only my car was damaged. The dealer and Acura corporate then inspected it and I was told "nothing was wrong". many times now, while driving the car, it seems that the engine shifts into neutral while I'm driving it. If I continue to accelerate, it will be stuck for a few seconds, then propels me forward with a jerk. I was trying to do a lane change last week, and the car didn't respond to my foot on the accelerator, like the engine was "stuck". I was lucky there wasn't a car behind me, because I changed lanes, then abruptly slowed down.I treated it like a hydroplane, I didn't accelerate, and the engine returned to normal functioning. Later that day, I was driving toward a toll booth, and again, I felt the engine shift and it wouldn't respond to my foot on the accelerator. This car is unsafe. I do not feel as if I can drive it safely. I am stuck in a lease for two more years. I would really like them to acknowledge transmission problems and get it repaired.

Acura 2015 Tlx advanced has hesitation or stumbles when trying to accelerate from low speed up to 40+ mph. (merging into traffic, passing, turning onto entrance ramp, or similar situations) has occurred from delivery. Dealership has twice inspected and states that nothing is wrong. Told me to try this "fix" and let us know. I have driven hundreds of miles in 3 loaner cars of exact same type and all have exhibited same failure. I am a driver with 55 years of experience. This is a design failure. This condition is unsafe and will cause injury or death.

After purchasing the vehicle new, immediately noticed hard and delayed shifting. Shifting between 1-4 gears was very hard. At times transmission seemed to be confused and would either pick the wrong gear or would take 2-3 seconds to finally engage into gear. On one particular occurrence while driving in a parking lot at about 15 mph I approached a stop sign and let off the accelerator. As soon as I let off the pedal the car dropped into gear so abruptly that it made the car lunge forward about a foot or two. On another occurrence I was driving on a residential street going around a traffic circle once again at approx 15mph I let off the accelerator for a moment as I went around the circle. Just as I was exiting the circle I depressed the accelerator to move quickly away since I saw another vehicle entering the circle. At this point the RPM's went above 3500 and the car did not shift and did not move. It appeared that the car was in neutral. It took about 1-2 seconds before the transmission was able to "find" a gear at which point it lunged forward abruptly. Both situation I did not have control of the vehicle because of the transmission. Both situations I was unable to control the vehicle in a safe manor. I have also at times needed to accelerate quickly into a merge lane and when "stomping" on the gas nothing would happen for 2-3 seconds.

While the vehicle was unattended (no driver present) and transmission was engaged in park; I was present when using the remote started. Upon starting (vehicle was started), it rolled up a slight inclined driveway roughly 3-6 inches, under power; then rolled back she same distance. Then a distinct click was heard. The car continued running in idle as normal with the remote start. Acura has reported transmission issues with the potential for the car to disengage from park (model sh-AWD) and roll away. This car was recalled for "roll" while parked and not running, , but passed and inspection by the dealer. Unlike the previous recall this issue entailed a "shift into forward", from park, under power while unattended. I notified Acura customer service to report it, was told to bring it in, but if the issue cannot be recreated then it cannot be repaired. This event coupled with the previous recall, has me concerned that Acura is not addressing serious safety concerns of its consumers.

I noticed the first time I accelerated quickly to merge onto the interstate that the engine hesitated at least a second to second and half before accelerating. After that, I started noticing the same hesitation whenever I punched the gas pedal to either merge into traffic or pass someone. I have read on the internet where other owners of this vehicle have the same problem. I just took the car in for it's first oil change and I complained about this issue. The dealer ran several computer software updates on my car and said that it was up to date and that basically that is the way the car is. I feel this is a big safety issue. I have adapted to driving the car with this hesitation, but I'm not happy with it. I think Acura needs to address this problem before someone gets hurt.

1. step on accelerator and the car jolts forward like it is in the wrong gear or you slam the accelerator, or the clutch is released rapidly. Jerks ones head back. 2.come to a stop, transmission downshifts hard causing the car to lunge forward overpowering the brake. (engine at idle). Most of the time it feels like someone has tapped you from behind.. when it occurs it is usually the first 2-3 times I come to a stop in a trip. 3.driving on level or slight decline, let off accelerator and slow to make a turn to go up a hill, step on accelerator as you transition uphill transmission slips out of gear (as if you are holding the clutch in and releasing it too slowly) then searches for the correct gear required to go up the hill and accelerate. (engine near idle) 4.most of my driving is in the city.. stop and go.. slow and go...

Attempted to merge into an appropriate gap in traffic that was going approx. 45mph. Car hesitated for roughly 2 seconds before downshifting into a lower gear in order to pick up speed, this caused other drivers to react to my much slower car not picking up speed as it should have. Acura has been contacted many times and has failed to fix this problem, inherit in these cars from reading complaints online about this car.

The contact owns a 2015 Acura Tlx. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced abnormal jerking between gears, abnormal acceleration when starting, and abnormal shifting while driving 45 mph. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission fluid needed to be replaced and the shift point software needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but after 500 miles, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500.

This car continues to jerk back and forth, fail to find the right gear, and downshift suddenly regardless of what driving mode you're in. There have been times when pressure is applied to the pedal and nothing happens creating dangerous road situations. The transmission is a complete failure and I've been told that there is nothing the dealer can do about it.

When driving at approximately 40 mph the car suddenly accelerates. I first noticed problem when coasting downhill, but now occurs on level highway also. Also there are periods when one tries to accelerate from a stop or from reverse to drive that the transmission hesitates before shifting into gear. At that point the engine has revved up causing the car to lurch forward when the gear does engage. Additionally even after a recall, the parking gear slips allowing the car to roll down hill. These problems have resulted in near accidents. Updated 11/18/15

Transmission is very jerky at low speeds when cold and hits a hard shift between 2nd to 3rd gear. All other gear changes are unnoticeable however 2nd going to 3rd always shifts hard. Read online and other owners are having the same issue. Despite the fact that certain cars are being recalled for transmission issues, all Tlxs should be checked

It seems like my brand new Acura Tlx is having issues with its zf 9-speed transmission. It hesitates and shifts hard going from 2nd to 3rd gear. A lot of Tlx owners having this issue and there is currently a 9-page thread on acurazine about this issue. You can read more about this issue from this thread: acurazine.com/forums/problems-fixes-420/9at-hard-shift-1-2-2-3-A-919230/ I took the Tlx to the dealer and they have done a tcm reset and idle relearn. It seems that for a couple of days, the shifting was smoother after the reset. Unfortunately, the issue then recurred. My Tlx still shifts hard between 2nd and 3rd gear. I'm a little bit concerned about safety. Sometimes, this hard shift or hesitation happens as I am turning left from a stopped position. I am concerned that I wouldn't be able to turn as quickly as I need to be. In fact, this exact thing happened this morning. I am thankful that the car that was going straight saw me and slowed down.

9 speed zf transmission shifts roughly from 1-2 and 2-3 with 2-3 being the worse. Dealer service states this is normal for the transmission do to torque matching or something like that. I find that hard to believe based on all the other issues this transmission is having in other manufactures vehicles.

Trans shifts are very jerky up or down. Sometimes does not downshift when braking. Scares you when you have to slam on the brakes to slow down or throw car into "N". pulling out into traffic can be scary as there is often a delay between acceleration and the engagement of the tranny. Then the jerky shifting occurs. I am not always sure if my car will pull out into traffic quickly and safely without me being rear ended. I will not let my wife drive the car. I will be going to the dealer this week for service. I have waited this long because the sales person told me the car needs 5,000 miles to "break in" the tranny. I have noticed reading on the web that this seems to be a common problem with the new model (8 speed double clutch auto with 4cyl. Engine.) it seems that american Honda has issued a tsb #15-021 (dated April 23, 2015. That addresses the problem, but I keep reading that this fix is not working and that many dealers are telling the customer "it's the way you drive it. We are not getting any bad computer codes". american Honda in concert with their dealership network are covering up a defect that is very dangerous safety problem. This is growing into a major problem...I will begin to document all future dealership paperwork in anticipation of filing a claim under my states lemon law. I will never buy another Acura again. My first was an Acura tsx and it was an excellent car. I am very surprised that Honda has done down the tubes. By the way, this is the first Acura model built in the usa versus Japan. Had I known that, I nwver would have purchased this car.

The car has times where it stalls or hesitates significantly - this occurs worst in shifting from reverse to drive (there is a several second delay and then a surge forward), and there are hard shifts between 1-2 and 2-3 gears. There are also times where when coasting and you apply throttle, it is unresponsive. There have also been situations where the car downshifts very hard and lurches forward almost uncontrollably (this has only occurred in sport+ mode).
