I am the original owner of this 2006 Acura TL. I have vertical cracks on the dashboard surrounding the passenger SRS airbag system. Aside from the bad look, is there a safety issue from either the air bag deploying prematurely and/or the air bag deploying in an unsafe manner and injuring the passenger. I have researched this issue online and there are numerous complaints about this dashboard issue and possible issues with the SRS airbag deployment.

I have owned this vehicle for about 9 years and been seeing major cracks in the IP trim, around passenger airbag area. The cracks started to develop about 5 years ago. They were insignificant in the beginning but have accelerated very quickly over the past year or so and seem to be getting worse by the month. I am concerned that these cracks would result in malfunctioning of passenger side airbag in an accident. I purchased this vehicle used and there has not been an accident since I have owned it.
For several years, my car's battery would prematurely drain to the point of my having to purchase several batteries in a much shorter period than usual. I had the alternator replaced under the mistaken impression that it was the problem. But only after researching the issue online was I able to determine the true issue. Apparently, a module used to control the navigational system is defective, and the company had known for years and still refused to notify owners and fix the issue. I am an agoraphobic person who suffers from bipolar disorder and other anxiety conditions, so simply sticking a car can be traumatic in certain situation. One such situation is expecting both one's navigation system and battery perform adequately and safely all the time; my reason for purchasing the car was because it had the premium navigation option, which, at the time, helped alleviate my anxiety by providing verbal directions in real time to my location, which reduces the anxiety from the agoraphobia. In several occasions over the past few years, my anxiety level has increased to unhealthy levels specifically because of the failure of the battery caused by some phantom drain from a module controlling the navigation system. Nissan literally put my life in danger in its failure to warn me about the faulty module. I disconnected the module and purchased a new battery a few months ago and all seemed well, other than no navigation. Now, in the middle of a pandemic my battery is dying again in the most inconvenient places such that I'm literally afraid to drive. Please help and make them fix this. While I know longer need the navigation with modern phones, having the bluetooth through the nav system is convenient, plus, I've lost a premium option that was my reason for buying it in the first place!

Well my air bag sensor, my psa light and my tpsa light is on. All dealing with faulty sensors and electrical issues. And my air bag sensor will come on once in awhile, saying it's off. And from the Acura TL community 2003 to 2006 have horrible transmissions. Everybody I know and talk to that have a TL that falls into those years, have had their transmissions either rebuilt or replaced. And nobody ever talks about it. I want to make it known that these vehicles have one of the worst transmissions other than the Honda oddessy but Honda has a recall on there transmissions. So hopefully one day Acura can do the same.
My dash board keeps cracking over time in several places, new ones just pop upping up everywhere.this did not start until last year sometime around 100,000 mi.I talked to local dealership, Acura co.and the manufacturer of their parts.they said they wont help me.this is not right.I barely drive anywhere.my car stays in garage and is very well taken care of.never been owned/driven on the coast or fl, anywhere like that.I live in Ms. All over the internet, on acurazine, and youtube this is happening to 3rd gen TL Acura.can U help me" the cost for a new dash is very expensive $3000+. this is a faulty product on their part. There is no way they should get away with this or not make a recall.are recalls a thing of the past" iv had several problems not of my making that I just paid to have fixed but I am sick of this.car manufacturers should not be allowed to do this to people. They just blow us of!and with those of us who take care of our cars, this means their defects arent goin to occur until much later after any warranty has passed.I assure U this is not from general wear or user error.my car stays inside garage, I very rarely drive it and I keep it waxed just as ones look on a car lot.because I have a truck that I drive mainly the car is rarely used.iv hardly put any miles on car since iv owned it.everywhere everyone that owns this model Acura says its happening.I assure U this car does not stay in sunlight, has never been around harsh environments.there is nothing that any driver does to create user error that concerns"cracking all over the dash board"from left side all the way to rt side, top and bottom.just long big cracks appearing out of no where every other month now.never have I seen this on any car with well over 100,000 miles.never.many others say the same thing.this type of theivery and quality should not go on.
The dash board of my Acura cracked along the passenger side air bag for no apparent reason. This seem to be a common problem based on opinions from other Acura owners
My vehicle has been garage kept since I bought it new in January 2006. In January of 2018, I discovered that the dashboard, where the passenger's airbag is located cracked. The crack outlines the shape of the airbag. I also discovered another crack directly in front of the steering wheel. The concern is that the airbag may accidentally deploy without being involved in an accident. In researching this problem, it appears that this is a very common issue with 2004 & 2006 Tls. Lots of complaints with the same symptoms and Acura is not taking ownership of the common problem. Thank you.
My 2006 Acura TL dashboard cracked after bad snow storm here. There are many cracks and the deepest is vertical alongside airbag. Acura is not standing behind their product and not correcting defective parts. The vehicle was stationary just never exposed to frigid weather. The car is not safe to drive not knowing when and if airbag will deploy.
My Acura TL 2006 dashboard started cracking approximately 18 months ago (June 2016). I had used armor all consistently yet the dashboard continued to crack and today, I see the crack behind the central dashboard speaker continue T grow. The second photo I have attached shows the significant cracking on the passenger side of the dashboard, and coincidentally, around the area where the airbag is. I would like this dashboard replaced to original condition (without cracks), and I am very concerned that these cracks have negatively impacted the safety of the airbags safety system.
Over the last couple of months, a crack has developed on the dashboard. The crack continues to grow larger in size. The crack is running right along where the passenger side airbag is located in the dashboard. I am concerned that this is compromising the the ability of the airbag to not spontaneously deploy. I am nervous to allow anyone ride in my passenger seat. This car is garage kept - it does not sit in the sun.
Dash cracking around passenger airbag as reported by countless others on social media and youtube. My concern is the flying debris from the faulty dash should the air bag ever deploy which can injure, kill or blind the occupant
