Car has a rattling noise in suspension at lower speeds. Had car inspected at dealer and found no problems with suspension. Test drove the same vehicle at the dealership and was able to recreate the same noise going over bumps. Appears to be a design flaw in the vehicle. Not what you expect from a 50k vehicle.
Took the car in for recall on seat belts and to report front end noise at low speed. They looked at it and said everything was tight. They asked me to go for a ride with a tech driving and he immediately said that's no good. So they called me back and said there is a tech bulletin on this and we will replace the front struts. They had my car for 15 days, got it back, same problem exists, going back as soon as I have time. Their flagship 60,000 dollar car, not happy at all, don't buy this car. 3 recalls already on car with 4,000 miles.
There was a rattle coming from the front suspension at speeds below 45 mph when going over smaller bumps. It's like something in the suspension was loose. It was a dull rattle definately coming from outside the vehicle but loud enough that my wife and I could hear it continually.
I brought the car in on 11/01/13 to have it checked out and they checked all bolts and reported everything checked out fine. They also test drove a comparable vehicle and found it to be comparable.
I've been in touch with the dealer about the suspension rattle and they stated that the Acura Midwest service rep's RLX exhibited the same issue. They replaced a strut on his car and that helped reduce the rattle so they decided to replace both front struts on my car which also helped reduce much of the rattle but a low dull rattle continued in both the front and back suspension. They thought perhaps it was due to cold weather and advised that I continue to drive and see how it does.
The rattles continued and the car was brought back in on 01/09/14 for the same problem and the Midwest service rep insisted that the vehicle is operating as designed. More to come from a future visit where they had my car for 20 days, replaced the rear shocks which solved the rear rattle but the front continues to rattle over small bumps. It's seems the strut system is defective and cannot respond rapidly enough to small bumps in the road and bounces over them.... $58k worth of frustration.
