At only 22,000 miles the brakes on my 2017 Acura RDX ( equipped with collision avoidance braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist) were exhibiting signs of component damage / failure. The car would rumble and shudder when brakes were applied between 40-70 mph. The dealer diagnosed warped front rotors and resurfaced the rotors and also replaced the front brake pads under warranty. During a concurrent inspection they determined the rear rotors were also warped and required resurfacing. I protested that I wanted the rotors replaced rather than lathe turned since past experience has taught me that resurfaced rotors will often quickly fail again due to their now lacking the necessary metal volume to properly dissipate heat. The dealer advised that Acura would only cover rotor resurfacing. Predictably, just 10,000 miles later at 31,000 miles (still under warranty) the car is going back to Acura for the same warped brake rotor symptoms. A second report will follow that service visit.

RDX 3.5L V6

Pretty sad the car costs so much and can't make 10,000 miles without brake rotors cut twice already. Looking to get rid of this thing soon.
