Traveling on Highway about 50 to 55 MPH, with about 4 or 5 car lengths behind the car in front of me. Approaching a construction site and tried to slow the car down but the brakes failed and my brake pedal went right down to the floor. Trying to avoid hitting the car in front of me, I steered into the construction barrier to slow and stop my car. That did not work because the barrier, as designed, guided me back into the flow of traffic causing me to hit other vehicles, causing injuries and totally destroying my vehicle.
