Acura changed the cell system used. But they did not prepare their dealers. They did not prepare their tech support people. They have been stumbling blindly trying to repair, replacing one part or another, but really no one knows what to do. And I, the poor consumer, suffer without the proper use of the GPS Acuralink system - even though I am paying for "premium" service. There is NO service.

The dealer tells tech support one story. Tech support tells the dealer a different story. They really tell me many stories, but, they can not fix the issue. So much for Factory Warranty. So much for Acura reputation. So much for Premium Add-On services.

I hope I do better with my new Lexus !

RDX Advanced V6

  • Automatic transmission

Main issue is the nav systems "gets lost" and GPS doesn't know where it is. After trying to replace some harness wire in early 2017, Acura replaced the entire nav system of my 2017 RDX. It worked well for about 9 months but late 2017 we're starting to see the same problem again. It's especially prevalent after starting the car in a garage. I don't expect the nav to work under buildings but when it gets into open space, it should readjust and work (like all our phones!). While I thought the system may use some poor-man's model of acquiring location only at startup, turning the car off then on in open space never fixes it either - nav will think it's somewhere else.

Very frustrating because I've only owned Hondas and Acuras since 1996. I like everything else but when it's time to replace my MDX, I'm going to look outside of the Acura family most likely.

RDX AWD Advanced V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

The Navigation system gives me wrong location, off by miles. Have had in shop at least 4 times, they have replaced everything without benefit. Then Acura told them there was an issue they were working on. In looking online, this has been apparent since the summer of 2017. I rely on my navigation and don't want to upgrade to a 2018 for additional 7K. I have been a loyal Acura customer since 1990 purchasing multiple Acura's, RDX x2, MDX x2, TL x2 and Legend.

After spending a lot of many on all the options I have not seeing the GPS system work correctly for more than a day (went out on the way home) Made appointment at the service, technician got in to the car and says: are you in Utah? (proxy drive to Utah is about two hours from dealership in Henderson, NV) , kept the car for seven hours, no test drive (mileage in and out are the same) and reported:" unable to duplicate concern at this time, concern is under engineering investigation for future review at this time"

I was told to call in two weeks. Called in two weeks no news. Called Client Relations got the case number (06031675). And was told that the concern could not be duplicated long enough for them to troubleshoot. The service rep now says to me if the cannot duplicate the problem long enough can't fix it. I have discovered in the GPS map settings menu how to bring the car to the right location. So if I know this do not need the GPS? Solution must be simple: when the GPS gets lost, pull over and tell it where it is and keep driving!

The Acura RDX is only 2 month old and already it is having problems with the Navigation and Phone systems. This car cost way to much to have these problems already. How much do you have to pay to get a car that has no problems in the first 3 years?
